Buying & Selling businesses

Silver Shemmings, solicitors, are able to offer assistance in buying and selling a business.  We recognise that this can be, even for the most experienced business person, very stressful and time consuming.

When selling a business we can help you focus on the important aspects of the sale including the preparation of all the sale agreement documentation.  This can include drafting heads of agreement, exclusivity agreements, confidentiality agreements and letters of intent.  We will explain to you the process and will guide you through the intricacies of the transaction.  We will liase with your accountants to ensue that all the financial information that is necessary will be available.

As the sale is usually linked  with the sale of the premises, then we can advise you on this and deal with the conveyancing side of the transaction.

When purchasing a business, we can review and advise on the sale documentation and will liase with your accountants to ensure due diligence is carried out. We will advise you on all of the documentation and will investigate title   which will allow you to assess the risks of the transaction. Again, as it is likely that premises are to be included then we can act in respect of these as well.  We aim to offer a complete service.
